Biography
Chris Bailey is a Musician, Photographer and Digital Movie Maker.
As a musician he has toured the United States with the band “beats the hell out of me”. BTHOOM has recorded several albums and was signed for awhile with Metal Blade Records. Recently Chris has produced and engineered the band’s “Revising History” CD which they have released themselves. It is available at CDbaby.com, and on the Apple iTunes Music Store, along with many other digital distribution sites.
As a solo artist Chris started the project TripNet, which is a blending of World, Electronic, Ambient, and Guitar Textures. These instrumental recordings have been his inspiration for getting into video and pursuing soundtrack work. A TripNet Cd entitled “Curve” was released in 2002 and a new CD is in the works for a 2007 release. It is available at CDbaby.com, and on the Apple iTunes Music Store, along with many other digital distribution sites.
He has scored music for several different multimedia and video projects for companies such as Sundt, Fairmont Hotels, Arizona Chain Reaction, and REI.
Chris has worked as a music technology consultant for 16 years and as audio engineer for over 10 years. He has a Platinum Record award for his work as a recording engineer on Tyrese’s self titled first CD. Since 1998 he has been working as an instructor at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe Arizona. Chris has been teaching various subjects such as digital audio, MIDI, surround sound, video game audio, Digidesign Pro Tools and Apple Logic Pro. Chris has also done a few seminars with the IFP Phoenix on sound and music for video production.
As a photographer Chris has done work for Mix Magazine and EQ, along with work for the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. He has worked event photography for Chappel Studios / Marathon Photo doing events such as the Chicago Marathon, Los Angeles Marathon, and various University Graduations around the United States.
Movie making is Chris’ new passion. He has entered several film making competitions in Arizona and has his work shown at an event at the Phoenix Film Festival, and had several of his movies shown on television for the program “ScreenWars” presented by the IFP Phoenix. He was nominated for several awards for his work on the five short films shown on “ScreenWars” for editing, visual effects, and soundtrack. He has also won two awards for best writing/screenplay for short films from Independent Feature Project Phoenix. He also entered into several other local 48-Hour Filmmaking competitions hosted by IFP and the A3F (Almost Famous Film Festival).
