As a guitarist in the early nineties, Chris was a founding member of the heavy alternative rock band Beats the Hell Out of Me. While working inside the band he developed his unique guitar sound: feedback, e-bow, slide, and effects all floating above a heavy groove. Initially the members of BTHOOM formed its own record label “Big Tick Records” and put out its first self-titled CD. The band was signed to Metal Blade records in 1994, releasing two albums with the label. The first album on Metal Blade Records is titled “Beats the Hell Out of Me” and was recorded at West Beach Studios in Hollywood. Their second album titled “Rolling Thunder Music,” was produced by Ross Robinson. The band got an opportunity to record with Ross at Indigo Ranch in Malibu, CA. In 2004 the band reformed to record a new CD with Chris acting as producer and recording engineer. "Revising History" was mixed using Logic Pro and is the bands most sonic release to date.
